Watercolors are one of the most accessible (remember that eight-color paintbox from your childhood?) and difficult art mediums to master. We are thrilled to exhibit the finest of Arizona’s watercolor artists from the Arizona Watercolor Association in this exhibition, juried by internationally known and award-winning watercolor artist and instructor David R. Smith, AWS (American Watercolor Society), NWS (National Watercolor Society). 

The Arizona Watercolor Association (AWA) was founded in 1960 by professional watercolor artists and instructors to advance the art of painting in water-soluble media and promote public awareness and interest through education and exhibitions. The group holds meetings for demonstrations, critiques, and networking on the second Thursday of each month from September to November and January to June. Smith will jury the exhibition from more than 150 submissions. He lives in Minnesota and will be holding two workshops for the AWA in Phoenix the week of October 5. For more about the juror, visit DSmithFineArt.com.
