Artists’ Breakfast Club, 20 Years celebrates the spirit of community and support among a group of Arizona artists with the club’s 20th year exhibition. Participants are a group of Arizona artists who meet monthly with the intention of artistic cooperation, mutual support, and community.
The Artists’ Breakfast Club was the brainstorm of artist Beth Ames Swartz, who participated in a similar group while living in New York City in the early 1990s. In 2000, Swartz and fellow Phoenix artist Jon Haddock invited about six artist friends to regularly have breakfast and chat together. The group has grown to more than 180 participants who attend monthly events, featuring curators, major artists, museum professionals, writers, and others—all to inspire and support Arizona-based artists.
