During the pandemic, my friend Eliza Plumlee and I would use each other as models for portraits and studies of the figure. Eliza is an artist, and I am fascinated with her creator’s hands. During this past month, I have created dozens of drawings of her hands from life and from plaster casts she created for me to use as a reference when we cannot meet. You can tell a lot about a person by looking at their hands. It is a portrait of an artist. — Ira Grin
