I painted this portrait of my mother to signify where we go and what we carry always defines us, no matter if these things are seen or unseen. My mother commutes twice daily on public transportation to work at her job at the airport. However, my mother is more than just her job, she is always shifting, moving, and changing as she experiences her life. Home, like us, changes and shifts. — Katherine Del Rosario
