Wendy Watson was a third-generation author and artist. She wrote and illustrated 21 children’s books and illustrated more than 60 children’s books for other authors. Her books have received many awards and honors, including The Koret Jewish Book Award, The Sydney Taylor Honor Book Award, Best Books of the Year from The New York Times, Best Books of the Year from the American Library Association, Best Books of the Year from School Library Journal; Best Books of the Year from Publisher’s Weekly; and Kirkus Reviews Editor’s Choice. Watson’s artwork is part of numerous private and institutional collections.
