Wilson Ong received a bachelor of fine arts in painting and drawing at Brigham Young University in 1982. He then attended Art Students League of New York in 1983, where he studied with nationally renowned figurative artists Ted Seth Jacobs and Harvey Dinnerstein. He has sold his work professionally as an artist and illustrator since 1983 and worked as an art educator in Utah from 1991 to 2004.
