Joel Coplin

The Stable

Joel Coplin, an Arizona artist, created and unique and colorful mural inside the Noriega Livery in Downtown Scottsdale. The Stable is a scene on the wall shows horses being fed in their stalls. Each horse was inspired by individual animals the artist had worked with during his time as a carriage driver in New York City.

Coplin has created a contemporary but timeless image painted with the same techniques used by the Old Masters. He commented about his piece saying, “I want to honor the work horses – the horses with no papers or trophies. The ones who go out, rain or shine and do heavy work with a good heart.”
