Creatures and Monsters is an exhibition of artwork by Arizona artists who explore and create the creatures of their imaginations. Historically, mythological creatures like a gryphon or cyclops embodied qualities that we admire or detest and do things ordinary humans cannot. They exaggerate and facilitate our life lessons and foibles. A monster helps us put a name to our fears and helps to tell stories about conquering them.
This exhibit asks: What kind of creatures and monsters do you know? Are they angelic and beautiful, or are they dark and hidden in the shadows, ready to come out and help us learn more about ourselves?
Exhibiting artists: Patricia Adams, Morgan Adams-Smith, Robert Fathauer, Ed Kennefick, Jacqueline Marquez, Stephanie McCauley, Thomas McKee, Tobi Natali, Sunny Nestler, Christy Puetz, Lydia Quinones, Tim Randall, Joe Ray, Annaliese Schneider, Keri Schneider, Caroline Wargo.
