Angela Ellsworth and Steven J. Yazzie founded the Museum of Walking (MoW) in 2014 at Tower Center Suite 206 at Arizona State University. MoW is an educational resource center committed to the advancement of walking as an art practice. MoW houses a small-but-mighty archive and library comprised of walking related material engaging disciplines of art, science, philosophy, health, activism, and cartography. Through workshops, exhibitions, guest speakers, and site-specific projects MoW fosters relationships between people, land, action and site.

In an ongoing creative residency, Angela and Steven are activating the Livery Studio Space currently being managed by Scottsdale Public Art as a satellite site for the museum. During this time, the space will function as a gathering space for discussion, walking-related projects, and other events that interface with the public. For current events, click here.

As a multidisciplinary and collaborative team, Ellsworth and Yazzie each live and work in Arizona and has experience with traditional art making materials as well as newer forms of work: social practice (collaboration), performance, temporary public art projects, video, and installation environments. Angela is also an Associate Professor in the School of Art, Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University, and will be working with her Intervention and the Everyday Performance class and her On Walking class in the space.
