Robert Winslow
Freedom
Freedom has returned to Scottsdale Civic Center following renovations and is located at the northwest corner of Scottsdale Civic Center Library.
Freedom is an abstract sculpture made of Alabama limestone and created using only a hammer and chisel. The piece was donated by the artist’s friends, the Dunlap family, in fondness for their three children, Robin, Lily, and Holly.
Robert Winslow was born in Los Angeles in 1950 and studied at the University of California Irvine and University of Arizona. He has works in numerous collections, including the McDonalds Corp., Helene Curtis Corp., The Chicago Board Options Exchange, GATX, Siemens and Loyola University in Chicago, and the Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art.
